Growing Older with Learning Disabilities (GOLD) programme

This project found out about the lives of older people with learning disabilities

 

It looked at ways to make life better for them
 

The GOLD programme was a UK-wide programme which ran from 1998 - 2002. It aimed to improve the lives of older people with learning disabilities. We set up a range of projects to increase our understanding of their concerns and how best they could be addressed.

 

Today and Tomorrow : The report on the projects of the GOLD programme. It focuses on inclusion, health, older family carers, where people are living, dementia, Down’s syndrome and terminal illness .

 

This programme of work led to the Older Families Initiative
