Children and Mental Health Services (CAMHS) scoping and consultancy

We looked at the mental health services currently available to children and young people with learning disabilities.

We used what we found out to write guidance for mental health services.

As well as scoping the range of mental health services available to children and young people, we have spoken to young people to find out what they think of these services. We have produced a report about our findings.

We have also produced a set of guidelines to help CAMHS become more inclusive for young people with learning disabilities.

From 2007, services have a duty to provide for young people with learning disabilities who may be experiencing emotional difficulties.

These guidelines have been created to help services provide a fully comprehensive service and are based on consultations with young people who have learning disabilities.
