Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities responds to lifting special measures in Cornwall

News release: 28 March 2008

In response to the lifting of Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust out of special measures, Barbara Mcintosh, Co-Director of the Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities, said:

“We are delighted to hear the trust has been lifted out of special measures.  This achievement is down to the tremendous work done by the Change Team and many others working in partnership to make life better for people with learning disabilities in Cornwall.

The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities has been privileged to be part of the work to make learning disabilities services in Cornwall more responsive to individuals’ needs.  What’s important now is that, without forgetting the terrible situation of the recent past, we can build on the improvements made so far so that everyone in Cornwall with a learning disability is given the opportunity to live as full a life as the rest of us.”
