People with learning disabilities from minority ethnic communities

Minority Ethnic Communities

Everyone with learning disabilities has the same right to services and support, but people from minority ethnic groups are not always included.

People with learning disabilities who describe themselves as Black or Asian are more likely to be unemployed, poor, see their friends less often, have poor health and be sad or worried a lot than other people.

In addition, people from Asian communities are more likely to have less privacy, feel left out and not feel confident.
