Accommodation for people with learning disabilities

Accomodation (big)
Nearly all children with learning disabilities and almost two-thirds of adults with learning disabilities live with their families.

Most other adults with learning disabilities live in some kind of communal housing.

An increasing number of people have supported living arrangements which are more individual and give them more say about how they live.

More supported living arrangements and residential places are needed to cater for people currently living with their families.

Most people previously living in long-stay hospitals now live in residential homes, group homes and other supported accommodation in the community.
