Training for practitioners taking on the role of Keyworkers / Lead Professionals...

28/01/2009 N/a for children with disabilities and their families This training is facilitated at your venue by Peter Limbrick, and is designed with you to meet your specific situation. The training will cover the needs of children, the needs of families and the needs of practitioners. The focus will be on children who need ongoing multiple interventions and will provide a structure for needs-led child-centred support and family-centred support.

Person Centred Approaches Training

02/07/2009 Fordsfield, Bury Road, Leamington Spa An introduction to person centred planning. This course includes an overview of the values, skills required, approaches and tools that can be used with individuals to create fluid, colourful and truly original plans. This six day course is set over two months giving ample time to practice the skills and reflect on learning. The course covers; The Ethos of Person Centred Approaches, Circles of Support and Facilitation, Graphics and PATH, MAPS and Life Building, Portfolios, Essential Lifestyle Planning.

Urban Flavas Week @ The Orpheus Centre

19/07/2009 The Orpheus Centre, North Park Lane, Godstone, Surrey, RH9 8ND This short course will consist of a week’s preparation and exploration of hip-hop theatre culminating in a sharing - 10 minutes of a short contemporary Musical - and a DJ set. To participate you must be 18 years old or over and have a learning disability or a physical impairment. Residential and non-residential places available. The course will be run by Excalibah (Matthew Xia) a freelance journalist, broadcaster, DJ, musical director, composer, theatrical director and actor. He is the youngest member on the Board of Directors at Theatre Royal Stratford East. He has produced for various artists including Shameless & Loudmouth, and created mix CDs and compilations.

Instant Soap Opera @ The Orpheus Centre

26/07/2009 The Orpheus Centre, North Park Lane, Godstone, Surrey RH9 8ND On this short course, you can create, write, star in, film and edit 3 episodes of your own soap opera – in a week! Then broadcast it on You Tube for all your friends to see. You’ll look at what makes a good soap, then as a group you’ll come up with characters and storylines, learn about scriptwriting and acting on television, and put the whole thing together for a world premiere screening to an audience on the Friday evening, before seeing your work broadcast online! Short Course Students need to be over 18 years old and have a learning disability or physical impairment. It is recommended that all course participants have an interest and enthusiasm for the performing arts. Residential and non-residential places available.
