The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities is part of the Mental Health Foundation. It operates as a directorate within the charity under its own brand identity and with its own Trustee sub-committee.
Our staff work closely with three advisory groups. They help the Foundation to think about what is most important for people with learning disabilities, their families and those who support them. Their advice informs the Foundation's plans for future work.
The groups are:
Advisory Group of people with learning disabilities
Advisory Group of family carers
Advisory Board - representatives of the two Advisory Groups and of stakeholders bringing other perspectives, chaired by a Trustee
We also work with service providers, consultants, policy makers and academics throughout the UK and in other countries.
